RockAgent Closed Beta

Yes, this weekend we ran our first closed beta tests with a small group of 15 people. We selected the group to be generally mixed, but we intentionally gave more weight to people without technical backgrounds.

We are putting forward a new thesis about music creation and distribution. We are gathering this thesis under the word “act”. We are giving people who have no background in music but want to create music the opportunity to build an AI-assisted music act.

In the tests, we opened only the production layer to users, and despite the absence of any onboarding layer, all participants managed to complete the entire production process from start to finish. This is important because one of our main goals is to make the entire system “simple”, and aside from a few minor UX issues, I believe we were able to deliver that simplicity.

In addition to our production layer, the part that will truly differentiate us will be the publishing side. We will enable users who create music acts to design a simple web identity for their act.

Based on the feedback I have seen, for those who understand the overall structure described above, we are building a very exciting product. Because those who see the bigger picture realize this: this is not a production tool, it works more like an operating system for people who want to create music. Our goal will be to reach the people who can see, or will be able to see, that bigger picture.

Personally, the thing that made me happiest was a comment from a tester with a software background, who described the current state of the product as “well above the MVP level.” I appreciate this observation, because in just 10 weeks we managed to build something that goes a few steps beyond a simple MVP and make it fully functional.

Of course, we still have a long road ahead. This is only the beginning. We will release the first version on March 16. In general, we intentionally included every feature in its simplest form in order to measure the reaction of the audience. These will evolve over time and move toward a much more mature product.

We will not be doing a launch specifically for Turkey. Our main targets will be the United States and LatAm. We have already prepared the American media channels that will announce the product first. From day one, we will also start testing the learning and growth engine through paid advertising.

We will see what happens.
