RockAgent’s Big Toe Moment

Tarantino’s Kill Bill has a scene I love: after Beatrix Kiddo wakes up from intensive care, she escapes the hospital and takes shelter in a van. There, she spends hours trying to move her big toe. When that toe finally moves, she says, “the hard part is over,” and 13 hours later, she regains control of her whole body.

Why did I bring up this scene? Because today is exactly the day that scene happened for RockAgent. We managed to move the first big toe.

After 1 month of LatAm tests, there was an intense period of fixes and improvements. We improved the process with small touches like an email loop system to bring users back, and a smarter, more flexible paywall structure.

Yesterday, we ran ads in the USA for the first time. The hardest part of the funnel was that first movement of the little toe, and finally, an American paid for this product. I’m not talking about selling a package to friends and people around me; I’m talking about a real user seeing value here and pulling out their wallet. This mattered.

In addition to that, under the RockAgent label, apart from the albums we made ourselves, a user released an album for the first time. And the album went live on Spotify. Having these two developments happen on the same day is exciting.

There will be good developments in the coming days. We’ll announce a Canada-based partnership, which I think will be an important step in terms of global validation.
