I Delayed My Flight for LeBron: Worth It!

You’re now about to experience the rare privilege of reading a recap of Team USA’s “historic” victory over South Sudan.

I had originally planned my London trip to last just one week. I extended it to two just to catch this game. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

The O2 Arena already holds a special place in my heart. I’ve seen Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic live here before. And today, I witnessed something entirely different, yet equally legendary:
the chance to watch the greatest individual player in basketball history, King James himself. As a bonus? The greatest shooter ever, Curry. The greatest scorer, Durant. Talk about a stacked night.

We entered the arena as soon as the doors opened. It was still empty inside, so we grabbed a few early photos. And by total chance, I turned around —
LeBron was already warming up. =D Couldn’t believe it. We immediately got him in the frame and snapped away. What a moment.

On paper, it looks like Team USA is run by LeBron and Curry. But make no mistake — on the court and on the bench, every single decision goes through LeBron.
That much is obvious. Also: the crowd was covered in LeBron jerseys. Durant and Curry definitely stood in his shadow tonight.

I had two small regrets from the night. First, Durant didn’t play — I only got to see him during warm-ups. Second, I just couldn’t catch a proper Curry catch-and-shoot moment. Timing didn’t align.

Now, South Sudan deserves a big shoutout. This wasn’t some relaxed exhibition — they played like it was a real knockout-stage game. They kept the pace high, made it competitive, and added real excitement to the night.

Another dream checked off the list. I’ll leave my next target down below. Stay tuned.
